In case you’ve been looking for a way to do some exercise at home and use your iPod at the same time, the Platinum Club Series Treadmill made by Life Fitness might be what you are looking for.

The device comes with a USB port so you can connect your iPod, and afterwards you can interact with the player just by using the 15-inch LCD touchscreen on the treadmill. Watch videos, recharge the iPod, or simply manage playlists – your pick.
The Platinum Treadmill has an interesting feature related to doing exercise – there is a virtual trainer that “helps you pick the best workout to meet your goals and provides motivating encouragement, tips and feedback”. Once again, you have the choice to pick a male, or female trainer.
Last but not least, the “Workout Landscape Perspectives” feature also looks rather uncommon. You can pick different landscapes like a mountain climb, a normal 200m Meter track, or a nature trail among other scenarios.

fcuk the ipod. look at that chick’s ass
Now all we need is a toilet with iPod functionality.
…or have the Japanese already invented one of those?
Seriously, I would love to have one. I could use all the help I can get to get through a workout on a treadmill. But I’m afraid I’ll have to stick with my Velcro attachment, Ipod, and “no thrill treadmill…..’cause these are going for $8,000 !!!

yeah snark, they have. Well, sort of, it’s a toilet paper roll. And I don’t think the company’s Japanese. A japanese company does sell several models of mp3 playing toilets though.

This is pretty cool, though it’d probably be better if it interfaced with something besides the ipod… like your PC via wifi or something. I mean, average lifespan of a treadmill is something like 10-15 years, 15 years from now I don’t know that I’m going to still be using an ipod, regardless of how much I use it now. But then, in 10-15 years, who’s going to be using 802.11b compatible stufff? :)
It’d be really cool if it could scan all your music and pick stuff with the proper rhythm for the speed you’re moving at. :)
chauncy, good point!
sia, I completly agree with you. $8.000 is just too much!
JC, in 10-15 years all iPods will be gone! :P
