I have a Zune 30 and an iPod and I have to ask, what are all these Zune bashers talking about? To me, the iPod advantages are more available accessories and a smaller chassis (in current model). I think the Zune is at least as good and has many advantages over the iPod. I know everyone loves to bash Microsoft, but come on, let's try to be impartial...

Actually, with the latest firmware update to correspond with the new lineup, the Zune is capturing the eye of many tech-savvy people.

For example, the ability to sync over wi-fi is finally here. Imagine just being able to walk into your house and have your music collection updated, pretty cool.

Most importantly, the fact that this update is retro-active to give the new features to the 1st gen Zunes is making alot of people excited about the release. A recent Digg heading relating to Microsoft's choice in this was "this is how you treat your customers".

Alot of people are also pissed off at Apple at the moment, for the poor quality of the iPod Touch, and the encryption of the iTunesDB and firmware in the 6G lineup, as well as the inferior soundchips in the Classic.

I think it's a great time to announce a new music player! I know I'm holding off upgrading from my 30Gb iPod Video to see what the 80Gb Zune 2.0 is like.
