Amazingly to me, it has already been a year since YouTube was purchased by Google and to celebrate that anniversary, TechCrunch decided to take a look at all of its competition.
These are the services we looked at: blip.tv, Brightcove.tv, ClipShack, Crackle, DailyMotion, Sony eyeVio, Google Video, Megavideo, Metacafe, Motionbox, Revver, Spike (ifilm), Stage6, Veoh, Viddler, Vimeo, Yahoo Video, and YouTube.
Since they are all about 80% the same, I’m not going to go through each of them one-by-one at length. However, there are some overall trends that ought to be pointed out, as well as some key differentiators.
They take a very interesting look at the video sharing sites, and show off their video interfaces. Should YouTube be worried? TechCrunch enjoys Blip.tv. I, personally, enjoy Stage6′s DivX platform.

I actually came across a pretty cool music site the other day that may give Google/Youtube a run for their money. It’s a video sharing site that’s also a social network like Facebook or Myspace. Anyway, it’s called woozyfly.com. I keep it up in my browser so I can listen to music videos while I work, but it looks like there’s a lot of other stuff you can do on the Site too. Just thought I’d put it out there fo all the music junkies like me!
