Just looking at the poster above awakens the terrible geek inside me everytime. What iconic figure can do that to any self respecting geek than Astroboy himself?

I’ve been collecting Astroboy figures ever since I saw my first Astroboy toy way back in 1976. Ever since then I’ve tried to keep the memory of Osamu Tezuka’s ultimate creation alive in my home in way or another. I’ve worn shirts, bought plush toys, assembled vinyl figurines and lately, bought those little action figures (all three that I could find) to decorate my workspace at home.

Now that the Astroboy CG-movie is in the works, my excitement is building. I know that the director for this movie is going to be an American (because it’s an American production) but since Tezuka-san’s source material will still be used for the story, I’m going to keep my hopes up that this will at least be half-way decent.

I can’t wait for this movie to be shown!
