I’ve been so caught up with work and family over the past two years that, truthfully, aside from music, I pretty much stopped all of my other hobbies. I rarely played games and STOPPED reading comics.

But the realization that life is too short and that to celebrate life one has to indulge in one’s passions I have decided to just reorder my schedule in order to give me some recreation time. This meant that I now have time to read comicbooks again. Yey, me!

The first thing that I picked up was DC’s ambitious 52. I’ve heard so much about this from my friends so I eagerly dove into the title expecting some of the best writing and plots in recent history. And you know what? 52 did not disappoint. It is quite ambitious to release a weekly title but they managed to do it without compromising quality. There were some dud issues here and there but as a general experience it was wonderful. Geoff Johns, Mark Waid, Greg Rucka and Grant Morrison (one of my comicbook heroes!) really outdid themselves here. I love seeing the DC universe without the direct influence of the Trinity and it showcases just how robust a world the DC universe can be.

Next stop Civil War. :)
