Speculation has been rampant on whether everyone’s favorite intergalactic bounty hunter Bobba Fett (sorry, mine’s Lobo) will be appearing on the recently announced Star Wars live action TV series.
The initial word from the Lucasfilm camp is that the new series will take place within the 20 year gap that happens between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars (A New Hope) and that none of the main characters in the films will appear in the series, although so called “peripheral” characters could appear. But producer Rick McCallum has finally come out to say that “The series will be about brand new characters, a group of people we haven’t seen yet, except Boba Fett, who will be an instrumental part of it. The series will also showcase other bounty hunters.” That’s as good a confirmation as any.
Casting for the parts have not yet been scheduled but fans are already wondering if either Daniel Logan (Attack of the Clones‘ young Boba) or Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett) may be cast. We’ll know in about a year since the scheduled debut for the series is on 2009.

2I heard something similar in a comic book store. I picked up the first three volumes of “dark times” which takes place within that 20 year gap, they also recently released star wars the force unleashed which chronicles the story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice which also takes place in that gap.
