I finally found the time to watch Cloverfield yesterday.

And you know what? I actually liked it! Just to get this one minor detail out of the way, I didn’t get dizzy at any time during the movie. I never got bored, too.

The whole “shaky cam” theme was actually quite effective. It made the movie more visceral, more in your face. You are forced to really get into the fear that the protagonists are going through. Even though the characters are not well fleshed out, character development is not really front and center in this movie but what they face and go through. It’s a character piece in monster movie clothes.
