I have never watched an iFanboy episode before, and I don’t know any of the hosts of the show. I know it is a video podcast about comic books, and while I enjoy the sessions that The Totally Rad Show does for comic books, I don’t know how much I can take from a whole show dedicated to the medium.
The hosts of the show are Ron, Josh and Conor. None of them immediately come off as guys I would like to hang out with, but again, first impressions can always be misleading.
I have a huge fascination with super heroes, and love the idea of comic books, but can’t justify spending what to me seems like too much money for something like comics.
The only comics I read regularly are the ones on the web, CTRL+ALT+DEL and Penny Arcade and my past experience with comics is limited to Archie comics, a few old Conan ones, and a random sampling of Marvel comics.
The episode I selected was entitled Custer, and was all about Preacher, something that isn’t my kind of comic at all. I am a man in tights fan. I don’t mean Superman, but any of those style superhero comic.
The camera work for the close-ups were pretty shaky, and almost motion sickness worthy.
iFanboy gets a four out of ten for me, though if they cover some popular superhero comics, I am sure that rank could go up. Work on stabilizing the close-ups and work on talking to the camera and not to each other, and this show could eventually become one of the better Revision3 shows.
This is part of my one month of Revision3.

1As someone who also pretty much only reads Penny-Arcade and Ctrl-Alt-Del regularly, I have to say that if aren’t reading XKCD as well, you should be. :)
