Mattel did not have a good 2007, especially with all of that controversy over the lead paint used on its toys. But even with that kind of bad publicity looming over the company, the guys at Mattel are still churning out new products for kids and kids at heart.

I am quite excited about the DC Universe line that the company will be coming out with this year. From the early looks at the Series 1 line, this may turn out to be the superhero toy line to watch out for in 2008. The sculpts are adequate enough but the fact that you can now get action figures like Orion or Etrigan is the big plus in this new line. As a big Batman fan and collector, I’m most definitely going to get the Batman and Penguin figures.  The Series 1 figures will have Batman, Penguin, Orion, Etrigan and Red Tornado. There will also be a BAF in the form of Metamorpho. This BAF is regular sized but the collectibles will be the accessories that you can attach to the body.
