I haven’t really seen it mentioned beyond very niche circles, so I thought I’d reveal this to fellow geeks and nerds – you must take a look (and laugh at the mad comments) over at www.bash.org.

Basically, the site accepts any funny (as long as they’re clearly real – though some of them are questionable) comments from any chat medium so long as they have reasonable formatting.  At last count, there are more than 20,000 quotes approved and more than 2,000 pending.

One of the things I love about the site is that you never quite know what you’re going to read next – these comments really do stretch from the full gamut of the sublime to the ridiculous.  Just to give you a sample, here’s one (courtesy of bash.org):

<Boyzoid> we went through almost 4 cases of beer
<Boyzoid> and most of that was drunk by my dad and I
<Boyzoid> I get my liver form him
<jamiejackson> you’ll get it from someone else soon

Now if that isn’t real comedy I don’t know what is!  I can honestly say that when I’ve felt a bit down there’s nothing better than a visit to bash.org in order to raise my spirits.  So go and have a laugh and maybe submit something of your own.  Who knows, you might see some of my anecdotes there…
