Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently developing the big screen “Shazam” adaptation along with director Pete Segal, and of course, comicbook fanboys are quite thrilled about this.
The great thing about the casting though is The Rock’s decision to let fans dictate which character they wanted him to play. As a big star, it would have been a given for him to play Captain Marvel. But the fans are clamoring for him to play another character — none other than Black Adam himself, and he has announced that he will, indeed go for that role. I really think The Rock is better suited to play Black Adam. Here’s one reason why….
And if we have both Black Adam and Captain Marvel maybe we can have the big powerhouse fight that the Superman movie lacked.
Imagine Black Adam and the Big Red Cheese punching each other through buildings and into mountains, with each hit sounding like a thunderclap.
I just hope they don’t make it too much of a kids film.
What’s happened to his hair there? Is it moulded plastic or something?

And yeah The Rock and Black Adam where separated at birth. I think he wouldn’t quite fit as Capitan Marvel but I’m not sure who would. The real question is: Who will they cast as Billy?
Needs a tad more point on the ears (or are they drawing BA with pointy ears these days :) ). Other than that it’s a perfect match.
As for Captain Marvel we need someone with a big build and a nice latern jaw. How about Patrick Warburton (if he’s not too old), or maybe Jeffery Dean Morgan (given his grizzled look and his sucsess with “Watchmen” and his role with the upcoming “Losers” movie). I WOULD say that Tom Cruise has the squinting down pat but he would have to go back on his meds and they would have to do camera tricks to make him look big enough.
As for Billy, that’s hard to say, who is the latest major teen actor? If they’re awful he can spend more time as Cap.
As for not making it too much of a kid movie the best way to avoid that would be to leave out the talking tiger, the marvel family and all that lame stuff they did back in the day. Sivanna is fine (to a point) but for the love of God change his kids names, or better yet, leave them out. :)
