The whole concept of transforming robots has always been a fantasy of mine. I’ve grown up with mecha anime series like Robotech and its transforming Valkyries. Of course, the Transformers will forever change the way we look at these transforming mechs.
You would think though that this kind of technology will forever be relegated to our imagination. It’s just too ambitious, too difficult, and near impossible to achieve… until now that is. Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University are now hard at work developing a new technology that combines robotics and magnetic swarms. The technology is very promising and proves that Science Fiction is really a roadmap for the future.
