Nintendo Co. Ltd. is further cementing its hold on the top spot of the console charts by releasing two new reasons for buying the top selling console.

The company recently announced that its new Wii Fit physical fitness game will finally ship to the US this coming May 19. The new game will be bundled with a weight and motion sensing gadget called the Wii Balance Board. The board will be used in tandem with the game in order to simulate various exercise activities designed to help players lose weight and build stamina.

May will also see the launch of Nintendo’s new online service that will be called WiiWare. Based on the name, this could be an updated and improved version of the current WiiWare service that is already a part of Nintendo Wii. The new service will let other game publishers distribute their new games over the net and straight to the users without using physical discs. This service could be similar to Valve’s Steam service. One of the developers that have committed to the new service is Square Enix.
