Finally got my hands on No More Heroes for the Wii. From the moment you see the first frames of the actual game, you will immediately realize that this is one of those titles that try to prove that Nintendo’s console is not just for kids, not counting the fact that this game was directed by SUDA – 51 of Killer 7 fame.

The game is frenetic and actually a lot of fun. It is also so bloody it makes Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill look like a Disney movie. The character, Travis Touchdown, wields a beam katana, which is just another name for a light saber. The violence is so over the top it actually becomes funny. There are a lot of overt sexual references, not least of which is the way you need to charge your beam katana — by jerking the Wiimote vigorously up and down.

This is only the second Wii game that I really fell in love with the first time I played it, the other being Wii Sports. Here’s hoping that the upcoming Smash Brothers Brawl will deliver, too.
