We’ve finally seen a new clip of Ninja Gaiden 2 and it’s a whole six minutes long.  If you’re not familiar with the series, your character is Ryu Hyabusa (who you may recognise from Dead or Alive).  He’s a ninja with some amazing movement abilities (such as a double jump, water running and all manner of other special moves).  He naturally also wields a katana along with a variety of other weapons to deal with other ninja and strange monsters.

As you can see from the video, action is both fast and furious.  You’ll also see there’s a heavy emphasis on combat.  If it plays anything like the first game (and the gameplay elements look very similar) there’ll be a touch of roleplaying elements in there, with different weapon attacks, potions and the ability to boost your attack damage.  You’ll love the way in which you can chain your attacks (and yeah, you’ll probably like it if you like Devil May Cry).

One thing that’s also obvious from that rather amazing trailer is that once again we’re going to see amazing cut sequences.  Frankly, it was a game where you didn’t mind to see a 30 second CGI sequence because it looked so damn good.  It was free of corny dialogue and there was a touch of magic in there too.

The game is a sequel to the immensely popular Ninja Gaiden (in turn a 3d souped-up remake of a NES game) on the Xbox in 2004.  It was then re-released as Ninja Gaiden: Black, which featured new weapons and enemies.  Finally, the latest addition was Ninja Gaiden Sigma – released on the PS3 to great acclaim, as it was basically the same amazing game but with even better visuals and faster gameplay.

Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 in late March or early April.
