Our favorite April fooling company has done it again. Although this year’s April’s Fools aren’t as funny as the mustache-bearing wisps of the past, they are certainly original and deserve credit.
To start things off, they introduced a new hero class for the upcoming Lich King expansion: the Bard. Although it’s not entirely unlikely to see a class such as Bard come to World of Warcraft, the feature page was a bit exaggerated and blatantly gave away how fake this was.

Starcraft 2 fans also had their share of the fun with the introduction of the Tauren marine, which is supposedly a more resistant marine from the most famous planet in gaming: Azeroth. It’s a shame that the funniest detail of the background was covered by one of the screenshots of the feature page. In any case you can hit this link to see the full image. Personally I laughed at the “Not milk” in the groin area.
Last, but certainly not least, is perhaps the most memorable Blizzard April’s Fools yet: Molten Core: Unleashed, for the Atari 2600. Not only is the trailer hilarious, but the artwork/screenshots below it are a perfect example of how absurd the art-to-game progression can be. It’s an impressive game really, and a “Must buy” when it’s released. It’s “has sound” feature is the most impressive one.
