A new creepy countdown page has recently been posted in the Japanese Playstation website. The intriguing page shows a countdown timer in a red background with ripples periodically coming from it. There is also a creepy audio loop of crackling static, atmospheric sounds and the disembodied panicked or frightened voice of a woman. There is also the voice of a man whispering something. At the right side of the background is a partially hidden Japanese character for the phonetic “Sa”.
The page immediately reminded me of the PS2 creepfest Siren. Given how the Japanese have perfected horror in all of its many forms, this is beginning to look like one title to really watch out for. Based on the countdown, we’ll know by Friday.
