Comicbook legend Frank Miller is currently in talks to direct one of his own comicbook masterpieces — Hard Boiled.

Hard Boiled was a wonderful collaboration between Miller and artist Geoff Darrow (who became known to non-comicbook reading movie fans for helping flesh out the distinctive visual look of The Matrix trilogy) and was one of the grittiest stories of its time. The story revolved around an insurance investigator who turns into a cyborg killer.

This is not the first time that Hard Boiled was earmarked to become a movie. Back in 2001, Miller and Darrow were both in talks to write the script for the film that was to be directed by David Fincher and was supposed to have starred Nicolas Cage.

As I’ve said before, Miller’s talents as a director is largely unproven. I am hoping that if this project does push through, he can give justice to his own work.
