One of the most hotly anticipated games this year is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots. One feature that is getting players excited is the online multiplayer component of the game, which was announced last February (along with the June 12 release date for the game).
Sony announced that an open beta will be offered beginning April. The beta program was finally opened a week ago but, to the disappointment of many, it was immediately closed again. Apparently, the interest in the game was so huge that the servers could not cope up.
The good news is that it is now back online. Sony has patched the beta client and the server and it can now handle the influx more effectively. The beta testing will now be extended up to May 11 to compensate for the delay. Take note though, a player queue is now being instituted, which means players will have to wait for their turn to get an open slot especially during peak hours.
