Although our current-gen camcorders already have excellent quality and incredibly small sizes, it’s the first time a company has stepped forward with a “full HD” one that you can almost put in your pocket.

Let’s get down to the good things before I reveal the tear-dropping price. The camera can capture video at a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (that doesn’t even fit on my current monitor) and take 4 megapixel photos.
Although the picture resolution isn’t as amazing (by today’s digital camera standards), the video resolution certainly is for something as small as:
1.3-inches wide by 4.7-inches tall by 2.5-inches deep
The inwards in the camera are also quite appealing:
It is equipped with a high-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® 10x optical zoom lens and 2-megapixel ClearVid™ CMOS sensor with Exmor™-derived technology, engineered to minimize picture noise.
From hereon starts the “ugly”…
The camera comes with an included 4GB card (that’s not the bad part), a PRO Duo Mark2 card. Yes, yet another proprietary format. And the camera only supports that or the other Pro Duo ones, though I’m pretty sure that there will be a resolution, or movie length, limitation for those that choose to purchase a PRO Duo card with a slower write speed.
It will be released in May for $900 and it’s respective travel kit (which includes a pouch, extra battery and travel charger) will cost $100.
Given the size of it’s sensor it’s highly likely that the maximum resolution video will have some quality problems unless you are filming under great lighting. But if you intend on filming indoors, there are better alternatives out there for cheaper prices that will give you better results, in a smaller resolution.
