I do acknowledge that Stan Lee has made a VERY significant contribution to the growth of comicbooks. Heck, a big chunk of all the superheroes that we have come to love both in print and on screen came from his imagination.
Having said that, I also have to point out that the man should have retired long before he began making highly questionable career decisions. Anyone who has watched “Who Wants to be a Superhero” will see that Mr. Lee can easily win any “Worst reality show host” award hands down (and I’m not even going to comment on that really bad show). Even his forays back into comics has shown that his creative juices have long dried up, just read any story from his Just Imagine imprint at DC Comics and you’ll know what I mean.
But then Lee’s name has an undeniable cache attached to it already so it is not surprising that he has forged a partnership with Walt Disney Picture.
Three projects are being prepared that will all be based on a story by Stan the Man himself, these are Nick Ratchet, Blaze and Tigress. From the B-movie sounding titles alone I am not pinning a lot of hope on these projects.
But then, surprises do happen…
