New Hellboy II poster, new Bats movie figures suck!

New Hellboy II poster, new Bats movie figures suck!

Another new Hellboy II poster has been released by Universal Pictures. I’ve said it before — Hellboy II is THE comicbook movie that I am most looking forward to. The trailer kicks ass and the posters are making me want to watch it more and more. This new poster shows Red with amidst the ubercool golden and gilded warriors that are the titular Golden Army in the title. Speaking of comicbook movies, I recently saw the first wave of The Dark Knight action figures and it sucks! The sculpt is just horrible and it looks cheap! Mattel, you could do a better job than that. Read more »

Ninja Gaiden 2 Demo Available In Japan

Ninja Gaiden 2 Demo Available In Japan

If you are looking forward to Ninja Gaiden 2 and own the requisite Xbox 360 to play it (I know I meet those two criteria) then you’ll be interested in the following news – Xbox Live Japan now features a demo of the ninja slasher available for download as an 857 megabyte file costing nothing and featured in Marketplace. This is the demo that all regions have been waiting for with baited breath – the game should be, after all, one of the best that in the Xbox 360 stable upon release on 6th June (one week away now, yay!).  Unfortunately, there’s no date for the demo to be featured Read more »

Resident Evil 5 due in March 2009?

Resident Evil 5 due in March 2009?

Gamers who have seen screenshots for Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 5 marvel at the very radical look of the game. This clearly marks the continuation of a new direction for the esteemed franchise, which actually started with the new gameplay elements introduced in RE 4.  Unfortunately, any kind of information regarding its eventual release has been a well-guarded secret. Until now, that is. In a business presentation held by Capcom last week, a tantalizing bit of information regarding RE5 was released. According to the presentation, Capcom plans to release RE5 along with games from its other franchises before the end of its 2008 fiscal year — and that’s March Read more »

A Date For Project Zero 4

A Date For Project Zero 4

Depending on which territory you live in, you may know the game series as either Project Zero or Fatal Frame.  Either way, it remains one of the most creepy video games you’ll ever play – how many other series have you creeping around with nought but a flashlight before moving on to a camera?  Exactly. Interestingly, the next game in the series is to be an exclusive release for the Nintendo Wii – a good move if you ask me.  The brains behind No More Heroes (Suda 51) is sharing directing duties with Shibata Makoto, with Nintendo being the publisher behind it.  As this is a pretty high profile title, Read more »

Green House announces Golf-inspired mouse

Green House announces Golf-inspired mouse

Being a company that mostly dedicates itself to gimmicky devices, it’s no surprise to see Green House coming out with all sorts of differently themed mouse+pad combos. Taking some inspiration perhaps from Apple’s old round mouse, this Greenhouse one is pretty much the same, except it’s texture is similar to a golf ball’s (which might make it uncomfortable after a while), and has the obligatory scroll wheel. I think the device would have had more appeal if a bit more care had been put into the end details of the mouse pad. That plastic flag makes it look…. well, in a word, cheap. Though I guess that for a golf Read more »

Asus officially launch the ROG XG Station

Asus officially launch the ROG XG Station

When the first laptops started being sold, it was common to see several add-on products that would improve or increase their functionality. Nowadays there are all sorts of things you can plug in via USB, but back then it was all done through the PCMCIA slot. This new addon takes advantage of PCIexpress to bring great 3D performance to laptops without gaming-oriented graphics card and 5.1 audio surround. The graphics card is an Nvidia 8600GT, which should be enough for more gamers. As detailed as the original article is they failed to mention the price, nor can I find it on Asus’ announcement. So I guess we’ll have to wait Read more »

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

I have wanted to buy a new keyboard for a while – the wakeup call came when I needed to have a new main board fitted to my laptop.  Was it the endless hours of manic typing that I’d racked up whilst using it that somehow made it give up the ghost, or was it something else?  Given that I didn’t know and didn’t want to take the risk, I decided to purchase a new keyboard. As I’m sure you’re all aware, there are a huge number of keyboards on offer at your local PC peripherals centre – everything from specialist gaming units all the way through to backlit, super-light Read more »

Origami light design

Origami light design

I remember I’ve written about a “book lamp” before.  This is a fold-up book, when you open it it turns into a desk lamp (well it actually “pops” out)… really cool.  The above picture shows a close resemblance to that idea, this time it took it further… ultimately. It’s no pop-up… it’s an Origami Lamp!  Really! Now this shouts original loud and clear.  You can be sure you’d be the only soul on the block … hey you may be the only one in the city… that is if this ever comes out commercially.Unlike the original Origami (which means “Oru” meaning folding and “Kami” meaning paper), the above lamp is made Read more »
