With a tantalizing hint towards an Avengers movie dropped at the end of Iron Man, fanboys are anticipating Marvel Entertainment to deliver on that hint… and it looks like they actually will deliver.

Based on Marvel Entertainment’s schedule for the next few years, there seems to be a conscious effort to come out with Marvel superheroes that play a significant role in the Avengers. Following a 2009 without a movie being released, the company will release a slew of movies in the following three years.

Here’s a breakdown of the releases:

* Iron Man 2 – April 30, 2010

* Thor – June 4, 2010

* The First Avenger: Captain America -  May 6, 2011

After these movies, the Avengers movie is expected to be released July 2011. But this one still has no firm plans. Anticipation is really going to build as these future dates get nearer.
