Treyarch (the Santa Monica developer behind Call of Duty: World at War) has revealed further information about this upcoming game that many will be looking forward to. Having previously developed Call of Duty 3, there are high expectations on Treyarch to develop something just as good to represent one of the most successful FPS series in modern times.
Call of Duty: World at War takes the series back to its’ historical roots in the form of World War 2. Brilliantly, it has been announced to support 4 players in co-op mode over Xbox Live – this should be a feature that creates some fantastic gameplay options. The game will take the allies from the Pacific right through to Berlin as Russia advances on Germany.
Though Treyarch is developing the game, it is will still be using Infinity Ward’s engine taken from the previous game. As this had a good reception and provides graphics that are still up there with other shooters it shouldn’t cause a problem – though it isn’t in the same league as Crysis.
Call of Duty: World at War has an expected release date of November 2008 and is set for all consoles.
