In what could be one of the first cases of plagiarism to invade game development, developer Majestic Studios is now under fire because of allegations that it has copied some of the environments used in their game Limbo of The Lost from the smash hit Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which was developed by Bethesda Softworks.

Based on screenshots that can be seen at GamePlasma, some environments in Majestic’s recently finished game looks very similar to areas in Oblivion–down to the textures, layouts and objects. Fortunately though the two games are quite different as Oblivion is a straight-up RPG while Limbo is a point and click adventure.

Limbo publisher Tri Synergy has denied having previous knowledge of the issue and has even put forth that the same issues were raised with regards to Limbo and another game, Thief: Dedly Shadows.

Majestic Studios has not issued a statement yet and the company has been incommunicado because the team has gone on vacation after finishing the game.
