The Worldwide Developers Conference event for today is being hotly anticipated by the Mac faithful because of Apple CEO Steve Jobs keynote speech. Geeks worldwide have come to expect new things from Apple HQ whenever Jobs goes on stage in events like the WWDC. And today’s event is no different. Even now rumors are flying as to what new product Jobs will unveil in a few hours.

There are those who are almost confirming that the second generation iPhone will be revealed. This new one is touted to be 3G capable, which means blazing fast internet connections. New features are still very sketchy but the general anticipation is that some color might be brought to the business-like palette of the iPhone.

There are also others who are saying that updates to the Macbook and Macbook Pro will be announced. There have been persistent rumors that an ultraportable Macbook is being designed and this could be the event where Jobs will officially confirm it.

Whatever the announcement is though, I am eagerly anticipating it. I plan to give my wife a Mac as a present and I’m hoping a new Mac will be announced. I’ll definitely get brownie points for getting her the latest Mac available. We’ll find out in a just a few hours.
