While I do have my fair share of Macs and other Apple stuff, yes I’d admit on the same breath that I STILL OWN a Dell Inspiron 8600. It’s a 5-year old model I know (!) but this thing has always been my work horse since 2003. It hasn’t broken down on me since. I’ve upgraded the hard disk from the standard 40GB to 60GB and that’s it. There isn’t a fingerprint from any tech whatsoever. Now let me take my long overdue bow. Thank you, thank you!
Now Dell’s out with Dell E laptop. Woot woot! I so love it! Tiny 8.9-inch marvel is waaaay to perfect for my quick and easy writing jobs.
I tried to go to my usual online stores (BestBuy & Tiger Direct) and soon found out that Dell’s E laptop will be available by August 2008. I think it’s worth the wait, hey, I’ve held off getting an ASUS EEE… might as well wait for this find.
I do hope that it’s going out in choice colors. Me think blue or white will suit me really well.
Dell is coming to the low-cost notebook party relatively late, compared to other first-tier vendors such as Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Acer. However, the Dell E series low-cost notebook will be priced at only US$299, US$100 cheaper than Acer’s Aspire one, and the market sources estimates that Dell can ship 2-3 million units this year.
