Guitar Praise is Guitar Hero with Jesus
The amount of space I dedicate to Guitar Hero and Rock Band in these pages is a testament to how much I love this game genre. But even I have to raise my eyebrow at this new product. Guitar Praise is new product that mixes the Guitar Hero idea with, uhm, Christian worship. The premise is simple, take Guitar Hero but instead of putting in songs from hard rock bands that “worship satan”, you’ve got a game that is filled with songs from Christian rock bands. I know there are a lot of Christian bands out there and some of them are actually pretty good but I’m guessing the pool Read more »

Casio Exilim puts "makeup" on your picture
Those wacky Japanese! They always think of the strangest features for their gizmos. Take for instance the new Casio Exilim cameras that feature a “makeup function”. This new feature recognizes the face of the subject then automatically adjust the focus and exposure. Pressing a dedicated button will basically make the subject’s face look softer and smoother. It also softens the shadows that appear on the face. If I’m not mistaken this feature is actually a first and we should see future cameras coming out with this feature. Read more »

Jagged Alliance for the DS still a go
Finally, some news on the oft-delayed Jagged Alliance project for the Nintendo DS. Empire Interactive has acquired the publishing rights to the turn-based strategy game. No release dates had been given along with the announcement but at this point, I am happy that there is proof the game is not stalled anymore. Jagged Alliance is one of the gems of classic PC gaming. It is considered as one of the best games ever made and bringing the world of Jagged Alliance to a new generation of gamers is something that should be wholly supported. Here’s hoping that the DS brings more vintage games to its system in the future. Read more »

Superman gets reboot
One of the biggest superhero movie news floating around right now are the plans to reboot the Superman franchise once again. Warner Bros. has confirmed through WB Pictures Group Pres. Jeff Robinov that the rumors are indeed true. The speculation is that the move will be similar to how the Louis Letterier-directed Incredible Hulk reintroduced the Hulk following the critically praised but box office disappointment The Hulk that was directed by Ang Lee. WB also announced that the current focus for its superhero properties are on single characters and that the Dark Knight template will be used–meaning it will be darker superhero movies. Hmm, a dark and brooding Plastic Man Read more »
