Furniture designer Dror Benshetrit offers a unique idea for those living in small space. You’re accustomed to the usual foldable chairs, now the Pick Chair isn’t just foldable… it’s “hangable” to a very small space you’d hardly notice it’s a chair hanging in the first place. And the ooohs and aaaahs to follow when you put down that “art-y” piece of wood on the wall and reveal a very zen-like chair.
It is available online right here, at a quite steep price of US$1,600-1,800 a piece.
The first foldable cantilever chair, goes from wall art to functional furniture with a flick of the wrist. With an inspiring take on the maximization of space and the transformation of an object from 2D to 3D, it epitomizes Dror Benshetrit’s vision: the emotion of art intertwined with the simple poetics of form following function.
Manufactured by BBB emmebonacina, Italy.
My personal take on this is that those chairs don’t seem to be able to carry much weight. You may as well check with the manufacturer regarding how heavy should one be to sit on the Pick chair… otherwise, it may as well be named “Pick Up Guest”. :)

1Great stuff – doesn’t look like a chair for the ‘heavy set’ person though.
