I couldn’t resist this new watch when I saw it, no doubt down to the fact that it has frequently appeared in the various motorsport advertisements that I regularly see when watching the British Touring Car Championships. However, the new Casio Wave Ceptor 1AVER is a bit special. The motorsport inspired watch has a huge amount of technology in an amazingly good looking package.
The latest additions to Casio’s high performance collection of radio-controlled watches have a motor sports inspired design. Visually stunning with carbon fibre pattern styling on the face and a unique velocity indicator, this four-motor chronograph with unique dial design delivers a leading edge specification.
Wave Ceptor technology is the most powerful tool you will ever wear on your wrist. Wave Ceptor’s key secret is Atomic Timekeeping which ensures perfect timing by automatically picking up a signal from radio transmitters in locations all over the world. These radio controlled watches are dual region which, unlike other radio controlled products, allow you to switch between the UK and mainland Europe transmitters. The Wave Ceptor range will also automatically adjust for daylight savings time.
It features a date indicator, water resistance to 100 metres, a daily alarm, a full auto LED, and dual time zones. Best of all though, it has a speed indicator, for measuring time against distance travelled. Surely the best feature for an aspiring racing driver such as myself. Now, I just have to get over my recent surgery so I can get back on the track…
The Casio WVQ-570E-1AVER costs around £120 ($200) and is available now.
