I totally agree Mel, it’s time that Apple stopped this nonsense of forcing you to go through their software. It’s exactly why I buy Creative music products and not anything from Apple.

What I want to see is Apple makig iTunes sync-ing an optional feature. I personally prefer drag and drop library management. I have so many MP3s that it won’t fit even on a 500gb hard drive. With iTunes you’re always required to have a copy of the iPod’s contents on your hard drive and that’s a big hassle for me. Unfortunately, Anapod Explorer doesn’t work on the new generation iPods anymore.

“it made more sense” doesn’t. Don’t try to save face when your original article reads as if they’d never had that much storage before.

As for it being better, I must have missed the throngs of people saying “please, please, give us less storage”

Genius will be available via an update for all of the classics. All they did was bump their smaller model and discontinue the larger one.

Heya Rob, yup, I know it was 160GB before. “Better” was because now it made more sense. Nobody I knew maxed out 160GB anyway. I believe the newer features is Genius.

You realize that the previous generation of Ipod Classics went up to 160gb?

I don’t feel that moving down to 120 was a bad move for them at all, but its not like they actually added any new features to the classic at all from what I can tell.

That is amazing. So much space. It does beg the question of what you’d do with it all. And how long it would take to turn that many CD’s into Apple’s stupid format, before then moving them across to the player…
