If you’re a fan of Silent Hill then you will no doubt be familiar with the fact that the new game in the loosely related series, Silent Hill: Homecoming, is coming out very soon – in fact, Halloween is set to be the release date for this frightfest. Whether you’re looking to pick up a copy on day of release for PS3, PC or Xbox 360, you may want to keep up with the latest news, information and screenshots. This is where the new Widget comes in handy.

The Widget can be added to facebook, Google or embedded into a website and offers news, information on the game, screen shots, the latest video content (I love the scene where Alex is talking to his mother, it has a huge amount of atmosphere and appears so sinister!). You can also view Diaries of three of the major characters – Alex (the protagonist), Elle (an old school friend of Alex) and Deputy Wheeler.

Overall, the Widget is a great way to keep up with the latest news on the game, but I’m very jealous to see that the US is getting the game a whole month before me here in the UK. However, I just hope it lives up to the promise of the rest of the series. You can access the Widget from the Konami site here.
