Microsoft has recently launched the Microsoft Store. It was a silent release, not really sure why, but I think this is a good move as people are largely getting stuff online anyway. You can buy a lot of things there from hardware to software. Zunes, webcams, input devices, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating Systems as easily as in other online stores too. Softwares comes either boxed or as a download. I think this is one of Microsoft’s ways to battle piracy too, get legal software easily online.

The link is http://store.microsoft.com. Well, your guess is as good as mine as to why it took them so long to open up an online store. It probably has something to do with market positioning though, back in the good old days people want to talk to humans before making a purchase. Now, we’re all comfortable sending cash anywhere as long as there is good security for online transactions.
