Here’s one for the, uh, books.
Barack Obama’s first appearance as president in a comicbook is officially with The Savage Dragon.
In a strip made for the Chicago Tribune The Savage Dragon, created by Erik Larsen, shakes hands with the President-Elect, who comments about the Dragon’s re-entry to the Chicago Police Department.
Larsen is a big Obama supporter and in issue #137 of The Savage Dragon, the Dragon even endorses Obama. This stunt caught the ire of many fans who thought that comics and politics should not meet.
Obama could, at least, count on the Dragon when the going gets tough during his term.
