Sega Megadrive Handheld

If you’re a fan of retro games, then I’d recommend that you hunt out one of these neat little things. Due for release 14/11/08, this new Sega Megadrive handheld offers twenty classic games preloaded onto the machine – meaning that you’ll have access to the real classics that you loved to play as a kid.

The games include:
Sonic & Knuckles, Shinobi III – Return Of The Ninja Master, Alex Kidd (and the enchanted castle), Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Arrow Flash, Columns III, Crack Down, Decap Attack, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, E Swat, Ecco, Ecco Jr, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Jewel Master, Kid Chameleon, Sonic Spinball, Shadow Dancer

Naturally you have built in speakers, a colour LCD screen and it only needs 3 AAA batteries. Perhaps best of all, you can rig it up to your TV for that authentic Megadrive experience. What more could you want from a gadget that only costs $50!

this looks pretty darn nice. i might have to pick one up for a gift for someone i know that hates games so they give it back to me. I mean, I can emulate these on my DS, but it’ll still be nice, specially since it hooks up to a tv..

This looks fantastic! I love the design and the fact that it runs on regular AA’s, but what format will the games come on and how many games will be released for it?

The gp2x wiz looks more promising. More expensive, but it can emulate any retro system, and play music and movies.

Just got one of the handheld, they are amazing, playing sonic and the other ganes took me back a few decades. they are nifty little pieces. Definitely recommend one of the handheld to sega mega drive fans. Only one complaint they did not put mortal kombat on the handheld. That would have killed it.
