Anyone who’s into horror, particularly the zombie genre should check out the British TV miniseries Dead Set.
The premise is cool enough. It’s a Big Brother eviction night but all across England strange things are happening. The dead have apparently come alive and the hapless Big Brother participants have no idea what’s happening in the outside world. I love the perfect mix of horror and the reality genre. I’d like to think of it as good companion piece to George Romero’s Diary of The Dead.
Do check out the five-episode series. You’ll be in for a treat.

1I’m quite happy to second that. Dead Set was surprisingly good – even if I didn’t like the comedy elements that were included. It proved that we in the UK can still do good tv shows, especially when Davina McCall is a zombie!

2Yeah! Davina’s turn as a zombie was quite inspired. I think the UK has been producing a lot of shows that are quite interesting and worth the TV time. I can name Spooks, The Eleventh Hour and the awesome Worst Week of My Life as recent favorites. Of course there’s The Mighty Boosh. Even Primeval has a loyal following at my home courtesy of my son who loves dinosaurs.
Hey, Mr. Butterscotch, I only realized you’re from the UK. You should drop me an email one of these days. :)
