This fits snugly in the palm of your hands, really! BenQ has developed the GP1 model in their digital projector line, actually crowd stirring as it has been a spotlight gadget-to-have at CES.

The “palm-top” unit, announced at CES, boasts a host of inputs including a USB port, plenty of color management options, and an impressive throw. Hey, did you read that (?) USB! What this does is pc-less operations. You need not bring a laptop or even a desktop. All one needs to do is plug-in your USB drive, select the file you want to view and off you go with your presentation.

Price? Roughly around US$600. Not bad if you do a lot of presentations. Your shoulder will thank you a lot for sure because at only 1.4 lbs… it’ll be pleasant to bring everywhere.

How bright is it, you may ask (?), hmmm that’s the frowner. At only 100 lumens, it has to be a dark room to project something decent. The BenQ also features BrilliantColor technology, plus preset and programmable modes for picture and video.

The GP1 runs on an LCD engine with a promised 20,000-hour lamp life. It also comes with a detachable iPod dock and integrated speakers. It should be available on BenQ’s site in March.
