Hideo Kojima is one of the acknowledged rock stars of the gaming world. Kojima san’s name is one of the few recognizable names, along with Shigeru Miyamoto, Yu Suzuki, Sid Meier, Will Wright and Peter Molyneux, that have come to define the modern gaming industry. As such, his lifestyle is also fiercely scrutinized just like any other celebrity. The guys at the Tsutaya superstore in Japan has done a great scoop for Kojima and Metal Gear Solid fans. FF XIII to be released first in Japan
Good news for Final Fantasy fans. The newest installment in the venerated RPG franchise will be released sometime this year. The bad news is that it’s just going to be in Japan for the meantime. Square Enix showed a new Final Fantasy XIII trailer during the Tokyo Game Show and the hints of a 2009 release was also mentioned there. But then only Japan will see this early release for the game. The US and Europe will have to wait until the second quarter of 2010 (at the earliest) for the English version of the game. FF XIII will be a PS3 exclusive in Japan, but will be made available Read more »
The Best Online Flash Games
I’m a sucker for addictive flash games. I don’t know about you, but I think the best video games are almost always simple and fun. Flash games tend to have both qualities. Now, I know that Flash games often don’t have much depth. But that’s ok for me. I just like to jump in and have some mindless fun. And Flash games do that for me. TechCult put together a list of the 150 Best Flash Games currently available. Lots of new gems on that list that I hadn’t seen before. What do you think of their list? Are there some great games they left out? Read more »
World’s First Internet Car Radio
Seems like there is a stand-out product in the radio industry at CES 2009. Manufacturers Blaupunkt ( a leader in automotive multi-media) and a popular internet radio website (MiRoamer) joined forces to debut the World’s first internet car radio… MiRoamer. Pretty “jazzy” look, eh, I like how it the jet black color works on any car interior. Hey, it’s from Blaupunkt so there, it must be a great design! What we don’t know is who MiRoamer is. At least on my radar, they haven’t landed on the 5 top free internet radio providers. So I did a little digging … read on. Here’s a brief intro to what MiRoamer is: Read more »
The Sony VAIO P Series
Ah, now this looks like a netbook I’d be happy with, but Sony doesn’t call small laptops a “netbook” though, they call it the Sony VAIO P. “P” standing for “pocket”. Sure does look like it’s pocket-size doesn’t it? I tell you, the main attraction are the colors, Sony seems to perfectly blend it for appreciation. Ah but wait, it’s not on wide commercial distribution yet… but pre-orders are available over at the Sony website, check it out here. Price range is from the low of US$899 to a high of US$1,499. The Sony page describes a slight difference between the two models… I see only a change in operating Read more »

Nintendo DSi rumors
Am I glad I didn’t cave in to buy a Nintendo DS light during the holidays, EVEN when they’re giving it away for US$85 with an old handheld game console trade-in? I sure am! LOL. I almost did when the daughter gave me a pout, but I held on strong and said… it’s a dying version. AS IF she knew what that meant. She would like the Nintendo DSi better… when it’s finally released here in the US. For now, rumors still feed my cravings. Multiple sources close to Nintendo tell IGN that the company is gearing up to debut the anticipated successor to its DS Lite handheld during the Read more »
Watch Lighter, anyone???
Ah, now I don’t know how to react on this. I mean on one hand I “kinda” liked they’re merging technology for convenience… at least for smokers. But on the other hand, it’s an odd combination, isn’t it? A lighter and a watch all as one? Hmmm… next thing you’d probably think is that the watch will take an alarm when it’s time for you to smoke! LOL. Not sure if I’m happy to NOT see it into production, I could imagine some harm in combining a watch and a fire starter. Ah, the horror stories for those who travel often if and when this is commercially sold. We’ve had Read more »
ACOUSTIBUDS Silicone Adapters for Earphones
Ah, yes, this does deserve an award in my book. I mean for the longest time I’ve been putting up with my in-ears that sometimes I’d switch to regular because it is beginning to hurt. ACOUSTIBUDS Silicone Adapters for Earphones is specifically intended to pair with the latest MP3 players in the market like Ipod / Zune / Sansa / Sony / Creative. But hey, if the plug fits you’d still be able to use it with other more generic players you may have. Burton Technologies had bright minds for sure. I wouldn’t have ever thought of creating that, LOL. But it seems they’ve successfully felt the market’s pulse. People Read more »
Cinemin mini projectors by spring
It seems that the mini-projector industry is heating up on several developments this first quarter of 2009. Now these are welcome innovations may I add to personal entertainment counting the fact that while full-sized projectors are relatively below the thousand mark, it still is to some a little expensive and bulky to use. Case in point of how things are moving is the development of the Cinemin stick, swivel and base. You’d notice from the picture above that they are well suited to be used with your iPod Touch or your iPhones. Perfect for the salesman on-the-go. It’s your instant presentation literally pulled out of your hat/box/or backpack. Cinemin swivel Read more »
