You just gotta love ThinkGeek.com. They have the “craziest” gadget on the internet. Who would have thought that you could be living your dreams of becoming a Samurai, well errr, not quite… and not even close. But it’s fun though to imagine you are when you bring along the Umbrella Samurai. This one comes with a strap so you can tie it to your waist or, for fun, strap it to your back. Just don’t feel a little awkward when people around you give you a funny stare. Their umbrellas aren’t as cool as yours anyway! It comes with a nylon scabbard and, yes, push-button opening. Gachapin and Mukku Netbook
Straight from the Department ‘Bag of Ugly’ comes this Gachapin and Mukku netbook. Gachapin and Mukku are two popular Japanese television characters who appeared in the children’s program Hirake! Ponkiki on Fuji TV.Considered the steady stream of comments on the Gachapin and Muttu blog these two characters seem to be rather popular in the land of the rising sun. I think they are rather frightening though, but who am I. Now they have been made immortal in a but-ugly fluorescent green netbook (rebranded version of the Konjinsha ML6KL12F, complete with Atom 1.6Ghz CPU, Windows XP Home SP3, 1GB RAM, TV tuner, 160GB HDD and all the other usual specs). Make Biofuel From your Leftover Beer
Reading the title of the entry, you wou would think ‘Why would I do that, I never have beer leftovers! And although I only very rarely drink beer I must agree with that. But the folks at E-Fuel claim that regular household sugar or even beer can generate lots of biofuel with their E-Fuel 100. For a staggering $9.995 (local tax credits may make the item more interesting). As a collaboration with a brewery in Sierra Nevada has shown, the E-Fuel 100 is more geared at companies than your average household. Read more »
Cylon Detector for iPhone
Just like many other geek households, Case el Franky is no exception and Battlestar Galactica is a highlight every week again. Battlestar Galactica is the exception when it comes to ‘legal’ matters. BSG is when it becomes allowed to acquire the newest episode somewhere because it is injustice that we here in the UK have to wait 2 weeks. And obviously it is fun to annoy the less internet-knowledgeable neighbours with spoilers.Battlestar Galactica is just like Reservoir Dogs, no new media version is released or this boy orders it and it looks pretty much like this: First you buy Season 1 then Season 2 and box these boxes are replaced Read more »
USB Rechargeable AA Battery
This is interesting… and I think this is most useful to people who have less space in their laptop bags for an additional bulky battery charger. You’re in a conference and your portable audio recorder is loosing its power juice. No problem, just use the USB rechargeable AA battery. Grab a second pair so that you can charge the flat pair over your laptop’s USB port. At 550 mAh, these USB rechargeable batteries are built for smaller gadgets. You probably can’t use it on your digicams.. noooo… just the smaller ones. Features – Built–in intelligent charger. – Charged by powered USB port. – Can also be charged by approved chargers. Wooden 2GB USB Stick with Post-it Dispenser
When I initially saw this, I thought ‘Genius!. A lovely wooden USB stick with Post-it notes dispenser. The perfect argument to start sticking post-it notes on my laptop screen, a sure recipe for disaster.Little later I was sitting in the little room, thinking how I could make one those myself. It’s crunchtime, DIY FTW! Read more »
Samsung Acme i8910 Leaked
First images and specifications of this hot phone by Samsung have been leaked. The picture displays an very stylish phone with sleek case, similar to the Samsung Omnia. Rumours say the phone will come with a hot 8MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPRS, HDMI and offer HD recording. It will be available in 8GB and 16GB versions. This all is very similar to the Samsung Omnia when one thinks about it, so we will have to wait until Samsung the official specs publishes. Still, this looks like one more very desirable phone from Samsung and that not alone for it’s design, but also for the camera alone makes it desirable. HD recording Read more »

Latosta Portable Laptop Stand
Ah, this will be the thinnest laptop stand I ever saw. The Latosta Portable Laptop Stand is relatively cheap to at US$10 plus shipping. It’s made of 304 stainless steel grade, definitely serving you for a long long time. It says it fits any laptops of any width. What I am a little concerned with is how much strain does it apply to the laptop case. As you could see, it does put in a little “pressure”, and while you may adjust it, you can in time, abuse the plastic. At any rate, it seems you are free to try it out for 30 days and if you’re not satisfied Read more »
