OK, so everything you do seems to get analysed these days – what TV programmes you watch, where you sit on the bus, whether you carry an axe around with you or not. “Geez, it’s not like I was gonna use it, officer.” Still, for those of us who spend an unhealthy amount of time on a computer, there might be an ounce of truth in “desktop psychology”. Psychologist Donna Dawson (who also helped the satellite broadcaster Sky try to convince us that watching high definition TV can make us happier) has suggested that the way our virtual desktop is laid out says a lot about our personality. I admit this is a very clever idea for a personal business card. I think even for a company business card, it does encourage people to find you. I could see people’s eyes… ooohhhh…. so we can look you up in Google? It does validate your “presence” now does it. :) I’d do this if I am at least in the top 3 search results. Bugs In Your Ears?
This one is definitely for the Department of WTF?! Ever since my iPod was stolen, I have not gotten a new mp3 player. In my mind, I would get one when I saw the need for one. But with all the cool mobile phones that can function as mp3 players, I never really had the urge to get a separate mp3 player. Still, I have always been on the lookout for cool earphones that would give me a great listening experience. Truth be told, I have only been satisfied with Sony Ericsson earphones. Read more »

When Gmail Goes Down…
Yesterday, I had a meeting for about an hour so I was not able to check my personal Gmail for a bit. Neither was I constantly checking my work mail, which is based on Google Apps as well. That is why when I went back to my desk, I was quite surprised to see people lounging around just chatting, some looked kind of panicky and irritated at the same time. So what was happening?
