Universal magnetic stand made from recycled computer bits

Universal magnetic stand made from recycled computer bits

Why spend out money on fancy stands for your laptop and other equipment when you can do something like Sasha Djuric has and make your own. His Universal magnetic stand photo stream shows how he took some old monitor stands plus the strong magnets from a defunct hard drive to create a compact music workstation for his Eee PC and various bits of audio mixing gear. Tell time… the hard way!

Tell time… the hard way!

Okay, I’m not too sure if you will love this or hate this CLOCK as it somehow avoids the ease of telling time. It’s the numbering system all over again if you try to at the very least decipher what this is all about. ThinkGeek.com, once again, has once again, leaped 10 steps forward for the geeky kingdom they serve. Geeks everywhere will enjoy telling time the geeky way. Check the features out: Read more »

Ovo Projection Clock

Ovo Projection Clock

I know it’s a little odd that you project an image of a clock to tell time. You’d agree with me probably that it seems to be short of a job to set this up too. A regular clock would just need a battery and a hook. The Ovo Projection Clock on the other hand needs a power source, a table top, the right angle, the right light environment and a smooth neutrally colored wall. Ah, the stuff we all need for geekiness. If this setup doesn’t bother you a bit, then I think you’re well on your way to be admired at how “unique” you tell time. The Ovo Read more »

Street Fighter IV Review (Xbox 360)

Street Fighter IV

If you are a 20-something, then the chances are that you’ll have played Street Fighter II as a child. You’ll remember the vivid colours, the strategic gameplay and the host of characters with a range of fighting styles. Many, many variants later and we’ve finally seen the release of Street Fighter IV. Today’s consoles can be seen as sorely lacking on the fighter front, so another is always welcome – but does SFIV arrive and show the pedigree it should? Luckily, it’s safe to say that it does. Gameplay The characters this time around are represented in 3D and fight on 3D backgrounds. However, they are locked in to a Read more »

Hot Cold Mug

Hot Cold Mug

More of a safety device than a gadget, but definitely one that geek’s around the world will enjoy. No one wants to drink cold stale coffee, what we want is a visual way to note if the beverage in front of us is warm or steamy hot for the overnight projects. Oh believe you me when I say caffeine IS A MUST when a deadline looms and every last ounce of adrenalin is needed to pull it through. It’s a little “steeply” priced for a mug at US$25 so might as well put this in as a project expense that helps out the team? Not sure about that, but worth Read more »

Bra Drier

Bra Drier

Ok… hmmm… don’t know how to start this post out honestly. What I do know is that ladies are having a hard time caring for their bras at the laundry mat. I was witness to one fine lady shriek when her designer bras got caught in the drier. All ruined I guess, as I wasn’t that keen to approach to say “may I help you?”. LOL. But maybe I’ll post this page up at the laundry mat bulletin board to send a gentle FYI to everyone. Not on sale yet, sad to say, but this concept is actively looking for investors. I’d need to know that this can connect to Read more »

Casio's Atomic Solar Watch

Casio's Atomic Solar Watch

How much better can you get? Seriously, the words “atomic” and “solar” in one phrase – wow! I have never been much of a watch person (watch as in wrist watch) but Casio’s latest release is something that no one can resist. Dubbed the Casio G-Shock MTG-1500, the wristwatch is no ordinary gadget. Coming from the tried and tested line of G-Shock watches, one can expect the usual toughness. Even my lately unusually clumsy partner can bang this watch on a daily basis – against metal, concrete, or marble – and it wouldn’t matter. That’s what G-Shock watches are known for. Read more »

Bluetooth Bracelet For Your Phone

Bluetooth Bracelet For Your Phone

I am not a fan of jewelry. I know that it is uncommon for women not to love jewelry and other accessories but my internal wiring must have a short somewhere because when people say “accessories,” I normally think of add-ons for my electronic babies. Imagine my confusion when I was presented with the idea of a bracelet (jewelry!) that can connect via Bluetooth (gadgets!) to my phone. Read more »

PS3 Firmware Details Leaked

PS3 Firmware Details Leaked

There’s no secret around the fact that the PS3 is destined to have a firmware update coming fairly soon. What is perhaps more of a mystery is exactly what this update will bring, the benefits, and sometimes of course, the disadvantages. Over at Game Trailers, a forum user has given details from his ‘friend who works in R&D at Sony‘ that includes a range of features that the forthcoming 2.7 firmware update will bring. Here’s the list: Friends List: – Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds. – Home Integration: Saved Read more »
