My new toy… EverNote

My new toy… EverNote

I know you’ve had the experience of looking for something for hours and hours and get frustrated that it’s no where to be found. I’ve had that recently when I was trying to look for a business card, a receipt & a few website snippets. Fortunately there’s a software tool that helps you “remember” everything, and easily pull that thing off for use as quickly as you need it. I came across Evernote as I was reading a few blogs today from industry friends. Evernote allows you to easily capture information in any environment using whatever device or platform you find most convenient, and makes this information accessible andsearchable at Read more »

Universal Cellphone Chargers… Hooray!

It seems that companies these days are aiming to lessen their environmental footprints. Even cellphone manufacturers and network carriers are making a bold move! Who would have thought it was possible for them to contribute! But that they did as news from BBC says that by 2010, participating companies will have a universal phone charger! Congratulations to Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, T-Mobile, Orange, 3, AT&T and Vodafone) for working in unity with a very noble objective. Yay! I first heard this news from Natalie del Conte’s “Loaded” podcast. What this means is whatever cellphone unit you use, there is just one charger that fits it… well, by 2012. Read more »

iReddit: iPhone users charged for privilege of accessing Reddit

iReddit: iPhone users charged for privilege of accessing Reddit

I’m used to seeing plenty in the iPhone app store that I don’t think warrants being charged for, so I’m not really surprised that Conde Nast has moved away from free apps – Style.com and Wired Product Reviews, both of which just repackaged existing content in an iPhone-friendly way – to charging for an app – iReddit – that lets you access Reddit. As you’d expect, the community has something to say about that. Fairly good-natured from what I’ve read, but then this isn’t Digg. Read more »

Plug your shelves!

Plug your shelves!

I couldn’t help looking at furniture this week at Ikea (Schaumburg, Illinois). They’ve got pretty amazing stuff there and if I had enough moolah, I’m sure to get some of their amazing designs. I’ve got a pretty small apartment to work with so Ikea designs fit well with how I want my pad dressed. Browsing the internet for more furniture designs I came across this site that may be paving a trend. This is a regular shelf, turned into a gadget power station by shelving designer Sung-Pil Hwang of Nothing Design Group. The concept tells you to actually plug the shelf to a wall power outlet AND use the three Read more »
