Dead Space for the Wii a reality

Dead Space for the Wii a reality

I think I’m one of the few people who loves playing first person shooters and other shooting type game mechanics on the Nintendo Wii. I say few because there are still some people who criticize the Wii-mote for shooting. But it is quite evident in the Wii version of Resident Evil 4 that the Wii-mote brings more realism to aiming and shooting with Nintendo’s revolutionary controller. That’s why I’m quite stoked about the announcement that Dead Space is going to be released on the Wii. The announcement officially came from Electronic Arts. The game will be made available sometime this year and will be officially titled Dead Space Extraction. Read more »

Guitar Hero: Metallica Now Available To Pre-Order

Guitar Hero: Metallica Now Available To Pre-Order

Guitar Hero: Metallica, the much awaited first game ever based on the SF music stars, set to be released on March 29th, can now be pre-ordered at Amazon. More details about the game have been released as well: Original bassist, Cliff Burton (died in 1989 in a bus accident), is not included in the game. Current bassist Rob Trujillo, is the one present. But Cliff’s bass-lines can be found in Rock Band: Metallica. Rob Trujillo’s braids were also hooked up for motion capture during the game’s development. The song “Slayer” is not included in the game due to lyrics controversy. A second-bass pedal will be released for sale along with Read more »

10 Crazy and Weird USB Sticks

10 Crazy and Weird USB Sticks

Last days have seen an increase in the number of new ridiculous USB sticks. We already reported the skate drive and the Post-It USB stick but things have gotten only worse since then. Newest additions are the handmade Tokyo Cat (pictured at the right) and the USB Green Man. Obviously there is the Hello Kitty USB stick but that one is surprisingly discrete compared to the latest rage. It should be no surprise that there is a Obama USB drive too. Maybe it’s just me and I have become an old and boring sod, but I usually am looking for the most discrete _bling_ and not etsy crafted gadgets on Read more »

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review (Xbox 360)

FEAR 2: Project Origin

Fear Alma – again. F.E.A.R., the seminal classic shooter, revitalised a tired FPS genre with a great mix of horror, gunplay and Matrix style slow-motion action sequences that proved a huge amount of fun. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin returns to the same formula, and doesn’t really differ too much. However, more of the same means more fun. Story The sequel to the original game kicks off just before the original game ends, i.e. prior to the massive explosion triggered by the release of Alma (a girl raised to be a biological weapon used to produce ‘replica’ soldiers) and her crazy powers. The player takes the role of Sgt. Michael Becket, Read more »

Do you have F.A.D. ?

Do you have F.A.D. ?

Funny moment. I was listening to K-Love here in Wisconsin when (I think John Rivers) says America IS infected with the FAD. Co-djs laughing, I was chuckling, specially when he went on to say what FAD meant… “Facebook Addiction Disorder”. John continues he wishes to rid of this and has been out of FaceBook for the past 17 days. Brave… very brave man. I wasn’t paying attention at FAceBook before, but was slowly being drawn to checking out my page when my high school buddies caught on FAD and was crazily tagging/adding everyone. I have F.A.D. and am not ready to say “I”m a survivor”. I don’t want to loose Read more »

Sega announces Virtua Tennis 2009

Sega announces Virtua Tennis 2009

I just recently bought Top Spin 3. I’m a big tennis fan but since I don’t have the actual skills to play tennis in real life, I just fulfill my grand slam dreams through video game tennis. I’m actually pretty good at it and I’m now building up my character so I can start competing in online tournaments. Top Spin 3 is actually the second tennis game in this generation. I previously bought Virtua Tennis 3 but sold it a few months ago since I’ve already finished the game. The lack of online play meant that the game had no legs for more playing options. But Sega has announced that Read more »

Marvel Comics releases first Motion Comics

Marvel Comics releases first Motion Comics

I’ve been collecting comicbooks since I was a young teen and I have never lost my love for the superheroes that I have grown up with. Even though I would sometimes stop collecting (the pressures of fatherhood can sometimes be a sobering jerk towards reality and practicality) I never lose track of what is happening to my favorite titles. What got me surprised though is a new way of presenting comics — and no, it’s not the comic scans that are proliferating on the net right now. Marvel has pioneered the presentation of comics that move. Yes, you read it right — Marvel now offers motion comic books. The new Read more »

Nut Media Player

Nut Media Player

This could be one of the smaller but at the same time more ridiculous media players and certainly deserves a place in our Dept. of WTF. The ‘nut’ can be controlled with just one button. Plug in the earphones and it will start automatically, unplug them to stop listening. Where have I heard last method before? For $21 you can now also have a nut in your pants! With 1GB of music Read more »
