What about waterbottles, plastic bags, computer parts, mobile phones, batteries, newspapers, disposable cutlery... etc. Come on, jewelry is meant to be kept and treasured. It serves its purpose well for what it is - something to make a girl feel pretty and special. Either you date a girl who doesn't care for jewelry (which is fine) or more likely you've never given jewelry to a girl before ... you take yourself mighty seriously ... As for necklace, it's pretty cute for NOVELTY jewelry, although from what I know sterling silver jewelry isn't supposed to be that expensive (?) I thought manufacturing sterling silver was actually relatively cheap (?) @brian: umm, jewelry bloating our landfill?
