Capcom recently revealed that it has released 4 million units of Resident Evil 5 to retailers worldwide, probably anticipating the huge demand for the game. Capcom also reported that the RE5 demo has been downloaded more than 4 million times through both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.
The figure stated by Capcom has made it the largest launch for the game since Resident Evil debuted in March 1996. The whole franchise has, at this point, shipped more than 40 million units.
