EA’s Grand Slam Tennis has achieved a coup of sorts when it announced that the game will now be the exclusive home of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the venue for the Wimbledon Championships. But it looks like that’s not the only coup EA has made in the tennis front.
The company has announced that legendary tennis star John McEnroe will be heading the roster of players – both past and present – for the upcoming game. McEnroe is one of the most recognizable names in the world of tennis having won seven Gran Slam titles and 77 singles titles over his 15 year career in the pro circuit. In 1999, the McEnroe, who has also become popular for his temperamental attitude on the court, was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 1999.
EA has announced that Grand Slam Tennis will be appearing first on the Nintendo Wii, and it will reportedly take advantage of Nintendo’s new MotionPlus attachment for the Wii-mote.
