Stick your iPod in an environmentally-friendly BLOK

Stick your iPod in an environmentally-friendly BLOK

Marks & Spencer: a British high street store that I’d never really associated with technology products, I must admit: more underwear and food (not together). Still, the retailer has launched a high-end iPod dock made from environmentally-friendly material. M&S reckons the BLOK comes in at an “affordable must-have price”, though my wallet shrivelled at the sound of £229 ($321). Mercifully it’s not called an iBLOK. Read more »

The Canine Pedometer

The Canine Pedometer

This is both cute and useful. I thought pedometers are only for humans but as it turns out we have a version for dogs to. Japanese inventor Takara Tomy has announced a dog pedometer that helps you take note and manage the amount of exercise your canine pals make in a day. They need the exercise too so they remain a strong and healthy companion. The dog pedometer is designed to be used all day so as to measure each doggie step. It records the data on a mini computer attached near the dog’s collar. Don’t worry, it’s no bigger than a deck of playing cards. Your pets may not Read more »

Capcom releases 4 million units of Resident Evil 5

Capcom releases 4 million units of Resident Evil 5

Capcom recently revealed that it has released 4 million units of Resident Evil 5 to retailers worldwide, probably anticipating the huge demand for the game. Capcom also reported that the RE5 demo has been downloaded more than 4 million times through both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. The figure stated by Capcom has made it the largest launch for the game since Resident Evil debuted in March 1996. The whole franchise has, at this point, shipped more than 40 million units. I was about to get the game myself yesterday but reason prevailed. In these tough economic times I’ve decided to put off buying RE5. Heck, I haven’t even Read more »

Clannad After Story

Clannad After Story

The ending for Clannad After Story aired this week, and although there were quite a few dull moments, the series managed to pull off a decent story. Clannad After Story continues where the first season left off with player Tomoya dumping his harem in order to go out with the dango-obsessed Nagisa. The beginning of After Story has the same feel as the first season of Clannad where everyone is enjoying their high school lives playing baseball and getting into gang wars (yep, a gang war in a romantic comedy). I’m not saying this part was particularly bad, but after an entire season of school life, I was really hoping Read more »

Wonder Woman movie back on track?

Wonder Woman movie back on track?

The ongoing saga that is the development of the Wonder Woman movie is still ongoing. After being in limbo because of a number of factors (one of them Joss Whedon’s decision to leave the project) it looks like the movie is again back on track. According to reports, development on the live action movie is now moving again at Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures. This means that we could finally expect to see every fanboy’s wet dream on screen pretty soon. Hopefully the Wonder Woman movie will come out soon after the Green Lantern movie is finished. Writers are now being hired to write the script for Wonder Woman. Here’s Read more »

Capcom getting flak for DLC decisions

Capcom getting flak for DLC decisions

Capcom is getting a lot of negative publicity and the ire of many gamers because of its very anti-consumer decisions with regards to the downloadable content it wants to pass off to gamers. Capcom is the publisher of two of the top selling games this month — Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5. Both games are selling extremely well, with Resident Evil 5 being a top seller since it debuted last March 13. Both games have been well received by fans and have gotten very strong reviews. But the problem is with the decision of Capcom to sell DLCs for both games. Now, DLCs are not a problem. In Read more »

Ctrl-alt-delete tool, what a laugh!

Ctrl-alt-delete tool, what a laugh!

Ok, let me be honest to say that I did laugh out loud when I saw the ctrl-alt-delete tool… after one hearty blow I then whispered a prayer to say “I hope this isn’t true!”. This will certainly be a hoot in the office though. Imagine your boss with that weird look… plus the possibility of a pink slip in the offing? This was a good laugh. A little design flaw though as in the past keyboards came in a standard form, right now though while this will work for some, it mostly will not work for a lot of keyboards out there. Do I hear the “Adjustable” ctrl-alt-delete tool? Read more »
