Yale student files $1 million lawsuit for missing Xbox 360

Yale student files $1 million lawsuit for missing Xbox 360

I just read this news report that’s good for a laugh especially for gamers. Jesse Maiman, a 21 year old Yale University student has filed a lawsuit in the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court against US airway and he is asking for a relatively astounding one million dollars in damages? And what was he complaining about? His Xbox 360 got stolen in the airport. Maiman claims that his Xbox 360, that contains what he says is a “specialized hard drive” was taken from his luggage when he traveled from New Haven, Connecticut, to Cincinnati, Ohio. He also claimed that he was given “an unconscionable run-around” when he tried to address Read more »

Skarsgard to play Thor?

Skarsgard to play Thor?

Being a film geek I’m not one to really get excited too much about Hollywood movies but the news that esteemed British thespian and accomplished director Kenneth Branagh will helm the new Thor movie really go me excited. This is a guy who’s not a hack and comes from the “art film” set. The thought of him doing a comicbook hero movie is just so cool in my book. Of course, for many people who will get to play Thor is more important than who will get to direct it. There have been a lot of names thrown around lately on who will most perrfectly fill the role of the Read more »

Well, to some of us who needs to monitor one video screen at a time this looks like a great buy. For about US$700 at NewEgg, the Numark Tripple Screen LCD Monitor seems to be a steal. Watchmen Review

Watchmen

Zack Snyder‘s stylish adaptation of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons graphic novel has certainly taken a long time to reach the silver screen. Has it been worth the wait though? Oh yes. The film follows closely to the graphic novel, but that’s not to say it doesn’t have appeal to those who don’t know the story – it does. Set in a very different version of the 1980s to our own, relations between America and the Soviet Union are reaching fever pitch. This culminates in a very real potential of nuclear attack. Nixon takes a historic third term in the White House, whilst costumed heroes remain a part of Read more »

Now the iPod shuffle talks back, but why?

Now the iPod shuffle talks back, but why?

Apple is surely running out of things to put on its iPod, given that its latest “innovative feature” is that the new iPod shuffle will talk to you. In fact, it’s the first music player that’ll talk to you. There’s a reason for that, Steve. No-one else would be silly enough to put that feature on their players – and even if they did, they wouldn’t shout about it. OK, it’s a lot smaller as well, but it’s only a 4GB player so, really, what’s the big (or should I say small) deal there? Read more »

What Was The Woz Thinking?

What Was The Woz Thinking?

You do know who The Woz is, don’t you? Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder? While Steve Jobs has undoubtedly gotten much more publicity than him, Steve Wozniak (whom fans lovingly called The Woz) has his own following. And this time around, he needs his followers to help him get through a different challenge altogether. The Woz may know everything a geek has to know about mp3 players, sound encoders and decoders, and all that stuff but with his latest endeavor, the story seems to take on a different light. Skull Candy Headphones

Skull Candy Headphones

Some of you have probably heard about Skull Candy already. It was my first time to hear about them last week, though. A colleague of mine was listening to some music on his iPod and I noticed his one of a kind head phones. The first thing that I noticed was the design – it screamed of my favorite band, Metallica. Naturally, I had to take a closer look, and I loved what I saw. These Skull Candy headphones will not stop at the looks, however. The moment I tried it, I knew that I was hooked. Read more »

Tulip hub for the coming spring

Tulip hub for the coming spring

Awwww… this is one of the cutest USB hub I have ever seen. It’s very thematic, as spring is barely 2 days away. If you have a lady who loves gadgets and flowers… this maybe a great idea to see her smile! And wouldn’t this be a great addition to a dull cubicle? If your boss is too tight to your designer tastes, maybe this subtle hue will change his mind. It is equally functional anyway. It’s priced at US$22 right here. A tad overpriced, I know, for a USB hub. Read more »
