You do know who The Woz is, don’t you? Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder? While Steve Jobs has undoubtedly gotten much more publicity than him, Steve Wozniak (whom fans lovingly called The Woz) has his own following. And this time around, he needs his followers to help him get through a different challenge altogether. The Woz may know everything a geek has to know about mp3 players, sound encoders and decoders, and all that stuff but with his latest endeavor, the story seems to take on a different light.

The first episode of the 8th season of Dancing With The Stars, The Woz paired up with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff. She was quoted as saying that she could “bring the sexy side out of any partner.” However, she also admitted to thinking that she and The Woz had tons of work to do when she first saw him try to dance.

As for the performance itself, the pair performed the cha cha to the tune of You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet. Indeed, I thought that it was not that bad, but hey, I am in NO position to make any judgments as I have two left feet as well. I did not think that he looked like a teletubbie dancing, though, as judge Bruno Tonioli remarked as soon as the performance was over.

I can’t help but wonder what possessed The Woz to do this but hey, geek that I am, I am going to support him. He is currently taking advantage of Twitter, Facebook, and technology in general to garner the support of geekdom. Geeks of the world, unite!
