Calm Shot Nerves With Furry Tribbles

Calm Shot Nerves With Furry Tribbles

I went out tonight despite a worse than usual hangover, which involved a pounding head and a queasy stomach. I do not know what I was thinking but I went ahead and indulged at a Chinese buffet (now you know how much food that involves!) and then went to a bar to watch the launch of a friend’s music video. For the most part, things went well; that is, until our ride overheated and another friend sent a text message saying that she got into a car accident. Needless to say, my nerves are shot right now. Good think I saw these little furry tribbles, a la Star Trek. Read more »

Keep Dry With The Samurai Umbrella

Keep Dry With The Samurai Umbrella

Rainy days are here again, and it seems that no one is exempt from it, wherever in the world you may be. The weather is really going bonkers on us and we have to make the best out of what we have. While nerdy types have been traditionally associate with the long umbrellas (yeah I used to carry one around), not everyone these days are comfortable with the idea of lugging one around. With this cool umbrella from Think Geek though, I think that geek or not, any person would not hesitate to use one. I was already smitten at the moment I laid my eyes on the umbrella with Read more »

Catch up on your reading. If you have a day job which takes up most of your time during the week, you might find yourself getting behind on reading. Best Hotels For The Tech Lover

Best Hotels For The Tech Lover

Traveling is perhaps my number 1 past time. I have to have at least two trips in a year to maintain my sanity. Otherwise, work would just burn me out. I am not a particularly fussy person but if there is one thing that would convince me about staying in a hotel or resort, it is the fact that they have free wireless Internet access in the rooms. Perhaps some of you are the same? Well, you will be interested to hear about the list that PC World came up with:  the best hotels for the geek traveler. Read more »

Half-functional keyboard pants for typing on the go

Half-functional keyboard pants for typing on the go

Firstly let me say that, as a Brit, the first mental image I had upon reading about “keyboard pants” wasn’t the best, but once I saw a picture it all became clear. That still doesn’t mean I fully understand why anyone would want a QWERTY keyboard – a pink, flexible, half-functional silicone keyboard – split across their lap, unless they want to do a spot of text editing on their PDA via it while on the move or… well, perhaps it’s an invitation for strangers to touch you in a slightly inappropriate way. Are GTA IV DLCs just timed exclusives for Microsoft?

Are GTA IV DLCs just timed exclusives for Microsoft?

Gamers know that Microsoft scored a “coup” of sorts by cornering the downloadable content for such hits as Grand Theft Auto IV and Fallout 3. The deal it struck with Rock Star Games and Bethesda is that DLCs for the two games will only be made available on the Xbox 360 — much to the disappointment of Playstation 3 fans. Of course, this agreement is not without any financial weight for the game company. Microsoft reportedly paid $25 million for each GTA IV DLC. A really big amount if you think about it. Microsoft has insisted that the DLCs will only be available for its console but timed exclusivity was Read more »

Meerkats boldly go… Star Trek knitted toys

Meerkats boldly go… Star Trek knitted toys

I don’t usually rave about little stuffed toy animals, but I had to post this up because it’s cute and a little bit geeky all at the same time. I love meerkats (I’ve even adopted one at London Zoo for the year), so this pair dressed up in Star Trek outfits just had to be shared. Creator NiftyKnits writes: Kirk is of course wearing gold, the original command colour. Spock is in Science blue. They wear Federation emblems proudly on their chests and have their ranking stripes on their sleeves. Spock (unusually for a meerkat) has those classic slanting eyebrows. As with my non-trekkie meerkats, hind legs and tails are Read more »
